Tinnitus and cranial osteopathy

Have you ever heard of a problem called tinnitus? Here, we are going to talk about the symptoms of tinnitus, the issues it causes, and how to treat it with cranial osteopathy.

* Definition of tinnitus
Tinnitus is related to sounds that are heard from inside your ear and head, and have no external source. It’s a disease that affects your hearing system. The most common sounds heard are:
* Ringing inside the ear
* Whistling sounds
* Low growls or high-pitched squeals
* Hissing sounds

* Duration of client involvement with tinnitus

These symptoms are short-lived for most people; usually fading away after a couple of days or weeks, but due to the high use of headphones and mobiles, the sound pollution causes a long-lasting and ear-damaging experience for teens and adults.
Tinnitus only affects a person's hearing, which processes auditory information.
{It is also common to experience tinnitus during a loud concert/show.}

* What causes tinnitus?

The different sounds (each person has a specific pattern/type) cause a change in the signal going to the brain which is responsible for processing everyday noise. This part of your brain is called the auditory cortex and if it is damaged it indicates that some different parts of the auditory cortex are not receiving the signals properly as before.
{Tinnitus itself somehow reduces a person's hearing to a small extent. Of course, it should be noted that one in three people with tinnitus did not experience any hearing loss.}

What influences tinnitus?
1- Going to a noisy and high volume environment
2- Injury to head, neck, and ears
3- Hearing loss
4- Ear disease
5- Ear infection
6- Anxiety and emotional stress
7- Side effects of medications
8- Jaw disharmony
and etc.

Most of these cases are caused by the lack of proper communication between the ear and the brain and the organs in between. In any of these cases, cranial osteopathy is the perfect treatment and an easy solution. Here are a couple of facts to be informed in case you encounter this disease.

-Head injuries are a common path to tinnitus. Luckily cranial osteopathy is an amazing tool and will show great results. By communicating with the sutures of the skull, we can shift ease the injury pain as well as shift the weight and release the tension on the ear, resulting to better hearing and hopefully cured tinnitus!

- Infection of the ear in different situations may cause a decrease in hearing. Worrying your ears off won’t help for tinnitus will go away after the infection heals.

- If you put a lot of stress on your shoulders daily, you should take time in the middle or at the end of the day to free your mind and relax your body. Do not withhold this favor from yourself!
There is also a better way to truly treat yourself. Manual osteopathy works to free the joints and create a sense of complete freedom and relaxation in the body, and helps to improve the parasympathetic and sympathetic nervous systems by creating a proper cycle for breathing and balance in your body. A session every once in a while with your local osteopath is the key to a balanced and pain-free life.

- A number of medications should be checked with a physician before use; because they may cause tinnitus on their own.
- Jaw mismatch is one of the signs that warn you to strive for your mental health. It's no wonder, however, that the number of cases with TMJ suffers from tinnitus. Tinnitus is three times more common in cases with TMJ than in cases without it, and it's even more common if your TMJ problems include headaches, migraines, and overall head injuries. Manual osteopathy and cranial osteopathy are widely known for helping with TMJ cases tremendously.

Who is most at risk for tinnitus?

If your job has a noisy atmosphere and you have to work there regularly, you should use ear protection, otherwise you may have tinnitus for a longer period of time. Jobs in the music industry, working in a factory, working in the construction industry, riding a motorcycle for long periods of time are examples of jobs with a higher risk of tinnitus.
People with high blood pressure and a history of cardiovascular disease may also develop tinnitus. Elder also have a bigger share of the risk of this unfortunate disease.

Most treatment of tinnitus is proven to be false and useless, resulting in specialists stating that tinnitus has no cure.
Manual osteopaths believe that there is still hope for finding a painless cure and helping 28% of the world to rid of this unfortunate and plain mean disease.

Treatment of tinnitus with cranial osteopathy

In this model of treatment, by helping to reduce stress and improve sleep and reduce pressure and restrictions on the client's head, it also helps lessen stress and anxiety and returns the body to its normal and original rhythm.

In the treatment of cranial osteopathy, as a manual osteopath, I make gentle changes to your spine, sacrum, and skull to restore proper balance to the body. Fortunately, most clients experience a big improvement in each session of their cranial osteopathy. However, you should be aware that worsened tinnitus requires long-term treatment and may take up to a year for complete recovery. In other words, even if you feel better in the first session, you should continue your treatment, because these treatments have the potential to return to the previous state and cause pain if you stop them.

If you, too, are struggling with a lot of stress during the day, your work environment is tense and noisy, and you feel that tinnitus has taken away your peace of mind, maybe it is time to consult a manual osteopath

maybe it is time to consult a manual osteopath or an osteopathic manual practitioner.
